The Retained Search Option
The retained search option offers a complete, full function search conducted by a dedicated recruiting team until the assignment is completed. Our recruiting teams are comprised of a Sr. Staffing Consultant, Project Coordinator, and Research Assistant.
The retained search option is generally the preferred solution on higher, executive level positions where there is a critical need that must be filled by the right candidate, generally in a short period of time. Our guarantee period is 180 days and all candidates recruited are exclusive to the client and will not be presented to any other organizations until the position has been filled. One of the main differences between our retained service and others is the placement fee amount. We only charge 25%, where others charge from 30-33%
Historically, in the retained search scenario the recruiter works exclusively for the client. In other words, if the client really wanted a particular candidate, but the opportunity was not necessarily what the candidate wanted, or perhaps not even in their best interest, you were expected to do whatever was necessary to make it happen.
While this may have been the model in the past, we do not approach it from this perspective now. We pledge that all searches we undertake, including retained searches, will be a win-win situation for all parties concerned, or we won't do it. If this presents a problem for you or your organization, it would probably be best if you look elsewhere.
Terms and Conditions
- A placement fee of 25% of the total estimated first years compensation is required.
- One third is due and payable upon signing of the retained search agreement. This is non-refundable.
- One third is due and payable upon presentation of the final candidate list (the short list)
- The final third is due and payable within 30 days from the date of hire
