Our Beginning as a Technical Recruiting Firm
When the Bell system divested in 1984 our founder, Michael Lewis, saw an opportunity emerging in the newly restructured telecommunications industry. After approaching a number of technical recruiting firms with the idea of addressing the needs of this newly emerging market, he finally reached an agreement with Kendall and Davis Co. in St. Louis Missouri. K & D saw the tremendous potential and brought Michael on board to startup and develop this new market. This led to a relationship being developed with startup LDX-Net, one of seven regional fiber optic carriers who jointly put together the country's first nationwide fiber optic network.
This initial relationship with LDX led to others being formed with fellow startups LiTel, Lightnet, Southern Net, Microtel,
Consoldated Networks, DigiNet and WilTel (Williams Telecom). From here, he expanded into voice and data network equipment
manufacturers and in 1992 expanded even further into data storage and the emerging Internet technologies arena. These were the roots
on which NicheStaffing was founded.
Some of our clients, in addition to the ones mentioned above, include: Codex Labs, Lucent Microelectronics, Digital Switch Corporation, Western Digital,
Symbios Logic, LSI Logic, Skipstone Technologies, NetApp, Agere, Aristos, Brocade, McData, Maxtor, Nayna Networks, Celox Communications,
Campio Communications, and Pliant Technologies.
